Dumfries & Galloway is well-known for its stunning landscapes and coastline and travelling by bicycle is an ideal way to explore. So bring your bicycle, or hire one while you're here, and enjoy a thoroughly invigorating break. We have lots of off-road trails, guaranteed to get your pulse racing, and miles & miles of quiet country roads that will take you to wonderful pubs, historic sites and bustling market towns.

You can even find the only museum in Scotland totally devoted to the history of cycling at Drumlanrig Castle. See the magnificent collection of bikes, dating from the nineteenth century to the present day. Scottish Cycle Museum at Drumlanrig

If an Off road challenge appeals to you, then make sure you take time to visit one of the 7 stanes mountain biking trails! The nearest centres are located at Kirroughtree, Glentrool and Dalbeattie forests - these new facilities are still being developed and are sure to make you come back for more.
